CSVI Cancer Patient Fund

The CSVI Cancer Patient Fund is set up with the Community Foundation of the VI. It provides funds for the uninsured and needy USVI cancer patients. There is a $1,000 cap per patient per year that can help cover the following:

  • Initial medical treatment, tests, etc. as patients are set up with Medical Assistance (MAP).

  • Flight, hotel accommodations, car rental etc. for patients traveling for treatment 

  • Hospice care 

  • Assistance with bills 

You must be a resident of the US Virgin Islands to qualify.



Medicaid covers members of the following groups that meet income, asset, USVI residency, and citizenship criteria:

  • Pregnant women

  • Children under age 21

  • CHIP children under age 19

  • Aged 65 and older

  • TANF children and adults

  • Blind

  • Disabled

  • Income criteria is $5,500 /annum for the first person in the household and $1,000 for each additional person, with asset test of $1,500 for the first person and $100 for each additional person.

  • SNAP children in households with incomes up to $6,500 gross/annum, without asset test
