Cancer Support VI Joins Global Day of Giving to provide support and raise funds for those impacted by cancer in the USVI

Join Cancer Support VI in a movement to support cancer patients in the VI for this #GivingTuesdayNow. This global day of giving and unity is set to take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented needs caused by COVID-19. #GivingTuesdayNow is an opportunity for people around the world and in our backyard to stand together in unity — to use our individual power of generosity to feel connected and to heal.

Cancer hasn’t stopped for COVID-19 and neither has Cancer Support VI. Those in our USVI communities living with cancer lie among those most vulnerable and impacted by this pandemic. Many life saving treatments have been paused and financial situations worsened — making the need greater than ever.

For those battling cancer in the Virgin Islands challenges are now threefold:

  • Charlotte Kimelman Cancer Center has remained closed since the hurricanes of 2017.

  • Our medical community works tirelessly to serve our cancer patients and offer some cancer treatment options, for others the only option is seeking treatment off island.

  • Seeking treatment off island today would possibly require a 14 day quarantine and/or cancer treatment options are delayed.

To a cancer patient, all of these obstacles could mean life or death. At Cancer Support VI we are working tirelessly with our medical community and government resources to best support those impacted by cancer.

You can join us in giving USVI cancer patients love on this #GivingTuesdayNow!

100% of your donation will go directly to support cancer patients with travel, hotel, medical expenses, rent etc.
