Advocacy. Awareness. Action
Welcome to our Women’s Health HUB!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and here in the Virgin Islands, we’re taking action.
Through education, outreach, and community support, Cancer Support VI is committed to empowering individuals to get screened, supported, and involved. Join us in raising awareness, and vital funds, to support those impacted right here in our islands.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection saves lives.
Survivor Spotlight — Petra is a two-time breast cancer survivor. Her journey has not only made her stronger, but changed her outlook and inspired her to help others.
There are donors, and then there are givers. Willie Hamed, Vice President of The Market STT and Moe’s Fresh Market cares deeply for his community and he wants businesses to know that we “need more people like Willie.”
Barb Michaud CSVI Executive Director is the face and passion behind Pinktober. She launched Pinktober ten years ago after a conversation with the General Manager, Kris Macken, at Mahogany Run to pay it forward. Michaud, a breast cancer survivor (or whom she likes to coin “cancer warriors”), like many Virgin Islanders who can’t afford the cost of cancer, reached out to CSVI for financial support & resources to guide her along her cancer journey.
We are shining a light on Melissa Lowe - Owner and founder of The Wellthy Mamma, breast cancer survivor & fighter, Virgin Islands resident, mom, wife, and a female entrepreneur on a mission of wellness shares her cancer journey to inspire others to know that you too shall overcome.
